- Reeder keeps cozy in Sean
I love creating knits for my little girl, but I know, as a designer, that little boys need great knits too! I wanted to design a great everyday beanie for the Shibui Toddler book that would be fun and interesting to knit, yet still be aesthetically appealing to both boys and girls. Thus, Sean was born. You may recognize the stitch pattern from last week's preview, Layla, but it is so much fun to work I had to put it into two garments.
The slip stitch pattern in this hat is easy to work, yet looks wonderfully complex, and it creates a great thick band of knitted fabric, perfect for a toddler beanie. The deep brim provides warmth and stability, so this little hat is sure to stay on, and keep ears warm, through the roughest fall play. It knits up quickly in the wonderful Shibui Merino Worsted, and Mom (or Dad!) can pop it into the wash after a long day at the playground.
